[ VIDEO ] Watch " The Flash " Season 3 - " Time Strikes Back " Promo

A new promo for " The Flash " has been revealed, teasing the rise of new threats in Season 3.

The promo show Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) coming to grips with the new reality he created with his actions (travelling back his time and preventing the Reverse-Flash from murdering his mother) in the Season 2 finale. He tries to explain the situation to Cisco, but Cisco is a rich man in the “Flashpoint” timeline, and not terribly interested in any realities where he is not.

In addition Two primary villains will make their debut during The Flash's season 3, but it's unclear whether the Dr. Alchemy or the speedster Savitar is the hooded character that is revealed at the 8 second mark in the tease. Dr. Alchemy traditionally wore a hood in the comics, while Savitar had a cult following that could explain this villain's followers.

Check out the promo above. The Flash Season 3 premieres Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at 8 p.m. on The CW.

CW Released Premiere Date Of The Flash Season 3

"The Flash" season 2 ended with Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) going back in time to save his mother and ultimately alter the timeline. How this affects the present day has yet to be seen but according to a report from TV Line, Barry will now have to contend with a brand-new returning character who may be a friend or foe.

According to the report, this new returning character is said to be slightly older than Barry and also geekier. He is described to be intuitive and smart and despite being a newcomer he does not believe Barry's "good guy" facade, teasing that this character may find out about Barry's secrets. He is also said to have secrets of his own.

While casting for this role is still ongoing, a report from Den of Geek points out that it may be Ralph Dibny aka the Elongated Man, a DC superhero capable of stretching himself very similarly to Mr. Fantastic of Marvel Comics' "Fantastic Four" team. Ralph Dibny is also a detective and this may play into how he meets Barry.

Another report also points out that Barry's actions may also lead to the potential return of Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), who died in "Arrow" season 4. Her Earth-2 doppleganger, the villain known as Black Siren, did appear in "The Flash" season 2 and if Laurel does not come back to life thanks to the change in history Black Siren may appear as a guest.

In regards to the show's premiere,The CW officially confirmed The Flash Season 3 back in March, along with renewals of just about every other show on its roster, including Arrow Season 5 and Legends of Tomorrow Season 2. The Flash Season 3 will premiere on Tuesday, October 4th at 8 pm. And what's that first episode called? Well, just as expected, it's "Flashpoint."

CW's confirmed the news with a tweet..

TheFlash Season 2 Finale: “Race Of His Life” Episode [ Recap ]

In many ways, it ended just like how most people predicted. However, on this week’s episode of The Flash, titled “The Race Of His Life,” season two finally came to an end, and it was a bag of mixed emotions. There’s sadness because there’s a whole summer to get through before The Flash comes back for season three. There was joy because lives were saved, stories ended, and some people kissed. Then, of course, there was some confusion because the finale brought up so many questions that fans will be asking regarding the next season.

Last week's episode, "Invincible," ended with Zoom murdering Barry's father in front of him in his childhood home (where Barry's mother was also killed). It was a brutal ending, and one that would bring Barry and Zoom's ongoing battle to a head.

This week’s episode begins with the screams of Barry and the death of Henry Allen. A cold start to the end of season two. Consumed with rage, The Flash chases after Zoom in an effort to stop his for good. However, a time remnant of Zoom comes out of no where and causes Barry to hesitate. Out of no where, the present Zoom appears and kills his time remnant. “You’re almost ready,” he tells Barry before racing away from the scene.

At his father's funeral, Barry is clearly distraught, unable to give a eulogy. Team Flash stands around the grave and we all take a moment to weep for what Barry has lost. Back at the house, Barry and Wally have a brief conversation about his role as the Flash, but a very subdued one, for obvious reasons. The team try and talk about what they can do to stop Zoom. Even at Henry's funeral, Zoom is on everyone's mind.

Outside, Barry and Iris are getting some fresh air when an unexpected visitor zooms past their house. Barry runs after them. It’s Zoom. He proposes a race between the two of them to find out who the fastest person alive is. If Barry wins, it all ends. However, he refuses to give into anything Zoom wants to do. But Zoom plans to kill everyone Barry loves until he gives into his demands.

Of course, that's not the extent of his evil plan. Zoom also wants to use the stolen Magnetar designs from Mercury Labs as a pulsar to destroy the multiverse. To do so, all he needs is for Barry to race him — at which point, the energy Barry creates when he runs can power his device.

Despite knowing that Zoom is trying to use his speed to power his world-destroying device, Barry wants to accept his challenge. Not just to save the world, but to kill him. Talking to Joe, Barry seems on the verge of giving into his rage, and tells Joe that he can't be talked out of it — at which point, Joe and Wells shoot him with a tranquilizer.

Barry wakes up in the pipeline to discover that the team has deemed him too angry to take on Zoom — and they all agreed to imprison him. Obviously feeling betrayed, Barry rails against the walls of his prison, but the cells were built to hold any metahuman, including him.

Without the Flash, the team have decided to take Zoom on alone. Their plan is surprisingly simple — after tracking the Magnetar's location, the team rolls up to call Zoom out. With the rest hidden, Caitlin will distract Zoom long enough for Wells and Joe to use the "boot" on him (one of Cisco's gadgets that slows speedsters), and for Cisco to create a breach and push Zoom through. With him off Earth-1, the team will take down the Magnetar, thus removing the threat.

Unsurprisingly, the plan doesn't exactly go according to plan. It starts well, with Caitlin telling Zoom that she has changed her mind and wants to be with him. The two seem to be connecting, but Zoom is pretty much pure evil, so we can't expect him to be kind, even to a woman he used to love. He attempts to kill her, before realizing that it's not actually Caitlin — she's using the same hologram technology that let Barry continue to act as the Flash when he lost his speed.

Cisco manages to open a breach, Wells gets the boot on, but Joe's tranq gun misfires, and he has to race forward to tranq Zoom by hand — getting dragged into the breach along with him. On top of which, it turns out that Zoom has altered the Magnetar and they can't disable it without destroying the planet.

Back on Earth-2, Zoom has taken Joe to his lair as bait for Barry. In the grand tradition of super-villains, he kills some time by talking to Joe about his evil plans and his evil past. Jay Garrick wraps up everything we have learned about Zoom so far — how he got his powers, took over Earth-2, learned to cross the dimensional barrier, his addiction to Velocity serum, stealing Barry's speed, all of it. He adds one new detail, though: Earth-1 isn't the only Earth that Zoom visited. On another Earth, he found another heroic speedster. He brought him back to try and steal his speed, but failed. Instead, he stole his name and posed as that hero: the real Jay Garrick.

Wally, furious that the team are not going after Zoom, lets Barry out of the pipeline, and he immediately goes to confront the team.Although upset, it seems Barry understood why they did what they did. However, Barry is still confident he can beat Zoom. And with the help of Cisco, he reaches out to Zoom to accept his proposal

Barry and the rest eventually meet up with Zoom at his work site. Zoom then tells them what he’s been working on. As it turns out, Earth-1 is the focal point for all of the other Earths. Zoom plans to send out a multi-universal shock wave that would destroy all of the multiverse. This explains the visions Cisco has been having of Earth-2 being ripped apart. The race begins and things seem to go as planned. Moments later and another red streak of lightning can be seen. Barry made a time remnant. The remnant races off the track to free Joe while the present version takes Zoom down. The time remnant continues to run around the device set up by Zoom in an effort to phase it out of existence. Sadly, at the same time, the copy of Barry have to die in order to succeed.

Barry Finally destroyed Zoom, but right before he’s able to kill him, two time wraiths come flying out of a nearby rift, Barry caught their attention, and as they burst out of a portal, the wraiths descend on Jay, tearing him apart.

It seems that all has worked out well, but with ten minutes to spare (and as a season finale), we know that this won't stick. First, we finally get to take a look at the man in the iron mask — the real Jay Garrick. Some fans called it when Henry Allen revealed his mother's maiden name. Earth-3 Jay Garrick is the doppelgänger of Earth-1 Henry Allen. The sight of him rocks Barry to his core, as he struggles to cope with seeing his "dad" again. Back in his old uniform, Jay Garrick takes Zoom's helmet, and heads out to try and find his way home.

Harrison Wells and Jesse decide to head back to Earth-2 now that Zoom has been defeated, and after some emotional goodbyes, Cisco opens a breach to send Wells, Jesse and Jay (the real Jay) home. Back at the house, the remaining team members watch the news as it declares that Flash has defeated Zoom, but Barry seems unhappy.

He and Iris talk outside again, but this time, he tells her that he can't stop thinking about his dad, and his inability to find peace with this latest loss. Breaking the hearts of West/Allen fans everywhere, Barry tells her that he's not in a place where he can love her. The two confess their love for each other before sharing a single kiss.

However, Barry has a new plan, and it doesn't involve going back inside to be with the woman he loves and the friends that he cares about. Instead, he runs back in time to the night his mother was murdered. Again. Only this time, he stops it. He takes down the reverse flash and saves his mother, even though it means that he may never become the Flash. We see the earlier version of Barry who came back to stop it the first time fade to nothing before our eyes, as Barry tells his mother that she is safe now.

What next ? Season 3 There are no previews this week, and we have to wait months before we get to discover what this massive new twist means for Barry Allen. On the surface, it looks like Barry has completely re-written the timeline — saving his mother would mean that the events that made him the Flash never take place. Harrison Wells, Eobard Thawne, the particle accelerator explosion — it's possible that none of these will have happened when we get into Season 3, and that is going to mess with Flash fans' minds until then!

The Flash Season 2 Episode 22: “Invincible” Metapocalypse Strikes Central City

With the flash nearing the end of season 2,the stakes are higher than ever before.Last week episode was all about Barry home. The emotional episode took us through Barry past so that he could finally let go of his guilt over his mother death,as well as giving Barry back his speed power and potentially turning Wally and Jesse into speedster themselves.

This week episode of the flash Season 2 is finally wrapping up and the penultimate episode pulled no punches. With the meta-human invasion in full swing, the newly invigorated hero had to confront a very dark enemy before finally taking on his main villain in episode 22, titled “Incinvible.”

The penultimate episodes opened Zoom meta-human army has now been fighting in central city,it seems as though this is a big problem.Joe and rest is on the front line about to capture when the flash is more than capable of dealing with them,as he speed to the rescue. He’s running all over the city clearing an entire horde of meta-humans in second. It pretty impressive, given that he previously taken a full episode to dispose of the single threat, but that's what visiting the Speed Force does, apparently.

Since his incredible return from the speed force last week, however, it's not quite that easy. Barry is dealing with the meta-humans from Earth-2 with surprising ease, but it's proving difficult to get them all. Team Flash doesn't even know how many there are, and while most seem intent on causing chaos (as Zoom orders), there could be more hiding out in the shadows.

Still, Barry is confident that they will prevail. In fact, he's a little too confident. His time in the Speed Force has imbued him with feelings of invincibility, and it's concerning the rest of the team. Throughout the episode, his friends and family attempt to talk to Barry about the dangers of overconfidence, but he will not be shaken.

Last week episode ended with zoom giving Caitlin option to either be on her side or Barry as he enlisted an army of meta-humans to take over Earth-1.This week we learned that she had decided to choice for the latter,Unsurprisingly.Caitlin Back to Star lab,but not quite her old self.Dehydrated and in shock, not only is Caitlin a little shaken up, but she seems to be hallucinating. She sees Zoom around every corner, leading us to wonder if she'll truly recover from her ordeal.

After being hit with accelerator explosion, everyone seems waiting for Wally and Jesse to develop speedster powers. It’s seem were going to have to wait at least one more week .Meanwhile,Wally is showing up no sign of superpowers but still he determined to do his best help central city. He head out trying and take down some of the Meta-human of the Earth-2 on his own, much to the fury of his father.

Buildings have been coming down a lot in Central City lately, with Mercury Labs being demolished the previous night. The culprit is none other than Laurel lance (You heard right guys)but her evil Earth-2 twin Black Siren, but her is much stronger and capable of taking down a building.Starting with Mercury Labs. Barry is quick to save the occupants, including our old friend, Dr. Tina McGee — who knows The Flash's secret identity!

It's revealed that Siren is working for Zoom, as he tries to keep The Flash busy and away from his secret plans. She becomes the meta-human focus this week. She even comes close to taking Barry down, as the two face off and she blasts him with a decibel level that no human should be able to withstand. Barry's accelerated healing allows him to survive, but only just, and he ends up making it through after Wally (who overheard his destination during their talk about heroics) speeds up and hits her with his car. It just goes to show Wally doesn't need super speed to zoom in and save the day!

Meanwhile, back at S.T.A.R. Labs, Cisco and Harry Wells have developed a sort of smart bomb for the meta-humans. It was previously discovered that people from Earth-2 vibrate at a different (higher) frequency than those on Earth-1. Using that, they created a noise that would knock out all the invaders in one fell swoop. They just need The Flash to generate enough speed around the city to power it. Just as they’re about to get started, they get an alert that Black Siren is planning to take out an entire apartment high-rise complex. Since they can’t have the hero in two places at once, Cisco develops a plan.

Now that Caitlin is back, he and her pose as their Earth-2 doppelgangers, Killer Frost and Reverb respectively, and distract Black Siren with a fake offer to overtake Zoom. Sadly, she quickly discovers them prompting Cisco to panic and generate a push attack from his hand for the first time. Although he can’t recreate it, it doesn’t matter as the smart-bomb begins to work. All the meta-humans collapse in the street and The Flash is able to round them all up in either Iron Heights prison or S.T.A.R. Labs. After some brief exposition about how they don’t plan to tell the group on “Arrow” about Laurel’s doppelganger, they decide it’s finally time to celebrate.

Claiming that it’s a celebration for Henry’s decision to stay in Central City so that Wally doesn’t figure out Barry’s identity, they host a little family dinner at the Wests’. If it sounds like things were going too well for a second to last episode of the season, that’s because they were. As they’re talking, Cisco has a vision of Earth-2 being completely destroyed and split down the middle. Just as he’s processing it, Zoom, who escaped back to Earth-2 to avoid the smart-bomb, returns and captures Henry. He calls out the Flash and the hero and villain run to the same house that Barry lost his mother. After an exchange of good and evil, Zoom murders Henry in front of the hero’s very eyes in the same spot where he had to watch his mother die.

The Flash Season 2 Episodes 20 Recap- Rapture: Will Barry Get His Speed Back?

A lot will happen in the upcoming episode of The Flash season 2, with Zoom enslaving Central City, Harrison Wells trying to recreate the particle accelerator explosion to get Barry Allen's speed back and Cisco coming face-to-face with his brother Dante's evil Earth-2 version called Rupture.

The episode opened with Cisco and Barry having cooked up a hologram of The Flash which helps keep up appearances that the speedster is still protecting Central City. Things seem to be working well but Barry is still mulling over whether to attempt Harrison Wells' plan to get his powers back: by recreating the particle accelerator explosion. After how the explosion impacted Central City on both parallel Earths, it should come as no surprise that Barry is not jumping at the chance to replicate it, even if it means becoming the best version of himself that he can be. Barry thinks things over and deals with very disparate opinions from his three parental figures: Wells who supports it, his father Henry who is against it, and Joe who will go with whatever Barry decides to do.

Cisco meanwhile “vibes” during a verbal sparring match with Harry, and sees his brother — or at least the Earth-Two version. This prompts Cisco to reach out to Dante, who’s more chilly than ever after their tandem kidnapping by the Snart family. But when Dante chases Cisco out of the bar after, they are confronted by the Earth-Two villain Rupture, who blames Cisco for murdering his brother Reverb. Sure ’nuff, Rupture removes his mask to reveal he is the other Dante.

This revelation doesn't quite ring true as we soon learn that Rupture is another pawn in Zoom's attempt to take over Earth-1. Caitlyn convinces Zoom not to kill the CCPD and she leaks information about Rupture's impending attack so Barry and Cisco can stop him. Livid at the betrayal, Zoom rushes to Jitters and kill all of the police officers there as well as Rupture. Barry runs in but Zoom reveals on the news that The Flash is a hologram and the city is his for the taking. This reveal is enough for Cisco to reveal his powers to his brother and the pair reconcile. Barry also comes to the decision that he will allow Wells to recreate the particle accelerator explosion.

As Barry struggles with his decision about Harry’s plan, Iris makes what is perhaps the “grand gesture” hinted at in T preview, saying, “I don’t know if can go through what I did the last time if you got hurt.” Alluding to his first trip to Earth-Two, after the Patty break-up, she said, “Barry, you’ve always had someone to come home to. Me. I’ve been thinking a lot about us,” married as they are in the future, and on Earth-Two. “I can’t help wondering if we’re meant to be together.” When Barry brings up his previously expressed feelings for Iris, she says, “I wasn’t available in that way,” being with Eddie and all, “but I am now. I need you to know it doesn’t matter to me if you’re The Flash or not. You are who I want to see if i have a future with.”

Barry's attempt to get back his speed remains one of the most gut-wrenching moments this show has ever done. Convinced that hundreds of metahumans will come out of the woodwork because of Zoom's press conference, Barry enters Wells' device which will focus the dark matter on his body while Cisco uses the Weather Wizard wand to channel a lightning bolt into Barry as well. With Henry, Joe, and Iris looking on, they begin the experiment. Writhing in pain, Barry endures the energy while Zoom witnesses what they are doing and rushes to STAR Labs. At the same time, Wally and Jesse break out and head towards the commotion. Almost at once, the explosion peaks and Barry's body is disintegrated while a flash of energy waves out and hits Wally and Jesse, knocking them unconscious. Zoom arrives and mocks them all for killing Barry Allen. He leaves and our team is left crushed by what they have done.

While Barry's "death" will clearly not last past next week's episode, this twist was notable because it all but guarantees that Wally West will now be a speedster himself. Wally, who became The Flash in the comics after Barry Allen, partnered with Jesse Quick (aka Liberty Belle) who also was called The Flash at one point. Both of them joined forces to defeat, you guessed it, Zoom. The team effort has worked pretty well on Arrow so having multiple speedsters will make for varied storytelling going into next season. While this episode felt like it lacked a worthy purpose for including Rupture, the closing act of this hour more than made up for it. I just hope that this isn't a tease for something that isn't going to happen. Bring on the Three Speedsters!
